Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2
Crossplay & co-op support.

Know which platforms can squad up, how many friends can join, and why playing together does not automatically mean sharing a save.

QUICK ANSWER

Yes—PC, PS5 and Xbox players can play together.

The official August 25 launch announcement confirms crossplay between PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox. The Xbox version available at launch is for Xbox Series X|S. Co-op supports up to four players in total.

These are support statements, not a store-by-store connection test by our team. We have not independently tested Steam-to-Epic sessions or every console pairing. Do not use a platform list for the original Fireteam Elite as evidence for this sequel.

02 / YOUR FIRETEAM

Four players, with cross-platform voice chat

The four-player limit includes you: a full human squad is you plus three friends, not you plus four. The official website also confirms voice chat between players on different platforms.

03 / TWO DIFFERENT FEATURES

Crossplay does not establish cross-save support

Crossplay means people on different platforms can play together. Cross-save or cross-progression means carrying your own progress between versions. One feature does not prove the other.

Cross-save remains unverified here

The official sources reviewed for this page do not establish whether your character, unlocks or purchases transfer between platforms. Do not buy another copy on the assumption that they will. This is an evidence gap, not a claim that transfers are impossible.

04 / WHEN SUPPORT DOES NOT MEAN SUCCESS

If an invitation or voice chat fails

The first patch notes report two relevant fixes: a voice-chat issue between cross-platform friends, and an Xbox issue where accepting an invitation did not let the player join a friend.

Official Patch 1 — Controls & Connectivity and Xbox updates ↗

Those are specific fixes, not a guarantee that every connection problem is solved. Our general reporting checklist is:

  1. Install available game updates on both players’ platforms.
  2. Record each platform and PC storefront, game version, and whether the failure happens while accepting an invite, loading a session, or using voice chat.
  3. Keep the exact error message and report it through the official game community. Do not post passwords or account recovery details.

We have not verified the sequel’s exact invitation-menu sequence, so this page does not copy friend-code steps from the first game. If the PC application itself closes, use the separate PC crash checks.
